Brief Review
A former police detective teams up with his roommate to unwrap a conspiracy around the murder of two Boston policemen. I honestly don’t have a lot to say about Spenser Confidential. It is just your run of the mill, very average buddy cop/crime movie. It kind of reminded me of 21 Bridges (and every other average police conspiracy movie), except I much preferred 21 Bridges. There were some funny scenes and there’s definitely a decent amount of action which is entertaining. But none of it is exactly memorable. I barely even remember the plot honestly. I can only remember 3 scenes, the opening scene, the ending scene and one in the middle. I’m pretty sure I get the entire gist of the movie from those 3 scenes. So there’s really not much to this movie. I guess it is an okay way to kill some time, but you can definitely do much better. It isn’t bad, but I wouldn’t watch it again. Also, I have no idea why this movie is called Spenser Confidential. Terrible name.
