Brief Review
Marriage Story follows a family as they struggle to navigate the challenging process of divorce. If you have ever had the thought “boy I wish I was a fly on the wall during a divorce”, then here is your movie. You basically get to be a fly on the wall as a family falls apart and goes through a divorce. Yeah the movie is realistic and paints an accurate picture of what divorce is like, but so what? It’s a miserable experience that I don’t want to spend 2.5 hours watching in my free time! There’s a reason I don’t go to funerals in my free time or spend a couple nights in jail too, because that sounds awful! This movie sucks! I really don’t know what the critics saw in this movie. It was boring, depressing and just overall terrible. It took me about 11 minutes to realize that this movie was awful and that I didn’t like it. Unfortunately I then sat there for over two more hours because I’m not a quitter. Lucky for you, you don’t have to be a quitter, just don’t start it. Marriage Story isn’t good. Lone positive, the acting was good, I’ll give them that. They did look genuinely miserable, but so was I and I’m not getting any awards. You can find a much happier and better way to spend a couple hours, don’t spend it artificially going through a divorce. Finally, change the title to “Divorce Story”, liars.
