Brief Review
A rookie Men in Black agent is paired with the organization’s most decorated star in order to save the world from a new alien threat. I enjoyed the first three movies and thought that Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith worked really well. I also liked Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson a lot in Thor: Ragnarok, so I thought they could carry the torch. Unfortunately, this suffers from the typical sequel/reboot issue in that it just feels formulaic and bland. There is no real reason for this movie to exist other than to use the name to make extra money. It doesn’t do anything new, the plot is exactly like the other MIB movies and there’s simply no wow moment. This isn’t necessarily a bad movie, I mean I wasn’t bored for the entire time. But it was only good enough to just keep me entertained. Outside of that there was no real positive to it. Unless you’re a huge fan of the Men in Black series or Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, I would say to just skip this one, it is like every other action comedy.
