What’s All This Hype About?
Avengers: Endgame is the culmination of 21 previous Marvel movies. So first thing first, the most impactful way to watch this movie is to have seen many/most/all of the previous 21 movies. If you haven’t seen any of them, no need to panic, you can still enjoy this movie, but at the very least you have to watch the previous one (Avengers: Infinity War). These two movies are essentially part 1 (Avengers: Infinity War) & 2 (Avengers: Endgame). This one follows the Avengers as they try to undo the actions of Thanos from Infinity War.
Brief Review
So this movie has a lot of good to it and I really did enjoy it, however I don’t think it ever quite reaches the height of Infinity War. First, Infinity War was able to have a shock factor beyond any other superhero movie. I left that movie stunned. Endgame doesn’t nearly have the same shock factor, but it does have its own surprises. Also, I understand why the movie was so long but the first third of the movie kind of dragged. Now outside of those few minor complaints, I did enjoy it. It has a more somber mood and while there are good jokes, I didn’t find it nearly as funny as many of the other Marvel movies. Then again, that wasn’t really the style of this movie. Endgame is a different type of superhero movie, it is more focused on emotion and consequences than action. There are still some very good action scenes, but they aren’t the focus of this movie like most superhero movies. Overall, this is a must watch movie if you are a fan of Marvel simply because it wraps everything up. If you’re not an avid fan, or haven’t seen any of them, I think this is simply a good movie worth watching, but you need to watch Avengers: Infinity War first. If superhero movies aren’t your thing, then I’m not really sure why you’re reading this review other than because this will likely be the highest grossing movie of all time.
