Brief Review
In a futuristic society that consists of a mix of humans and cyborgs, a teenage cyborg who was left for scrap is rescued and given a second chance. So this one is a mixed bag. At times it was very entertaining and at other times, it was kind of boring. I will say that I thought it got better throughout, because I thought it started kind of rough. I would actually be mildly interested in a sequel, although I wouldn’t say I loved this movie by any means. There are just too many flaws to overlook for me to say it is truly good. For example, the whole first third of the movie feels incredibly rushed, with very little background. The main character goes from having no memories at all to being a fully functioning part of society in what seems like minutes. I’ve been alive over 20 years and am barely a fully functioning member of society! Also I thought the acting in the beginning was noticeably bad, thankfully this seems to get better as the movie goes on. On the other hand, there are some really good action scenes and the special effects are pretty cool. In the end, this movie just doesn’t live up to its special effects, but fans of sci-fi movies will enjoy it. Overall it is a decent pg-13 teenage movie with some cool action scenes, but there are probably better options.
