Brief Review

Aquaman battles his half-brother to become king of Atlantis in order to stop him from waging war on the world. DC really went big with this movie. There’s a lot of cool special effects and visuals but it is still a step below the Marvel movies. As much as I really wanted to like it, it just felt like they were trying too hard. The humor is really hit or miss and a lot of the dialogue just feels downright cheesy. There were far too many times that the dialogue was almost uncomfortably bad. The movie is also pretty long, although it is paced pretty well so it doesn’t always feel long. On the positive side, it is still an ok superhero movie. Jason Momoa is a really cool looking Aquaman and he is easy to like. There are also plenty of pretty good action scenes that are fun to watch. Overall I enjoyed watching it, however I wouldn’t consider it a must watch and I likely won’t be watching it again anytime soon.
