Brief Review
A goody two shoes mom, tries to discover what happened after her mysterious best friend goes missing. This movie is actually very similar to Gone Girl in both subject matter and style, except Gone Girl was better. This one really spiraled downwards for me. It starts off very interesting in the set up, but totally goes off track by the end. Half way through I would have said it was really good, three-quarters through I would have said it was average and by the end I thought it was borderline ridiculous. I really found the ending to be just too many twists and thought that it got to be too much. Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively both played very interesting and good characters, but the story let them down. Also, this movie was actually funnier than you would expect given its dark tone. Ultimately though, I think this movie is average at best. If you were a huge fan of Gone Girl, or love mystery movies this might be worth a watch, otherwise it probably isn’t worth it.
