Brief Review

After her husband and daughter are murdered by gang members, a mother sets out for revenge. This movie is exactly what I thought it was going to be. It was not necessarily a “good” movie, but I definitely enjoyed watching it. What I mean by that is there isn’t much to the plot other than my single sentence overview, but that’s also why this movie is so entertaining. It never tries to be something it is not. The whole movie is basically her hunting down the gang that killed her family. Maybe it is because I (ridiculously) think I would do this if put in the situation, but I found the movie to be very entertaining. Think Taken or Law Abiding Citizen, but less creative and more violent. The key to this movie is really having the right expectations. If you’re in the mood for a simple action movie, this is worth a watch. While there’s not much more to it than a violent revenge movie, it is very satisfying to watch her get her revenge.
