Brief Review
Set 20,000 years ago, Alpha follows a teenage boy who is left for dead after a bison hunt and an injured wolf as they learn to trust each other in order to survive. I really wanted this movie to be a lot better than it was. I thought the story had good potential, but ultimately it was very forgettable. There are some intense scenes and some cute scenes with the wolf, but it really fails to string them together into a good movie. It is also filmed in a very exaggerated manner, similar to 300. Except 300 is a lot better than this movie. There are really beautiful shots of landscapes, but I kept wondering if they were real or created through CGI. The worst part is that for a movie that was actually only an hour and a half long, it felt much longer. Overall this movie is ok at best, probably not one worth watching. If you want to see beautiful landscapes, just watch the Planet Earth series on tv.
