Underwhelming, Formulaic, Potential
Brief Review
Based on a book series, a disease kills most of the world’s children, however those that survive are left with special abilities. I generally am a fan of dystopian type movies however this one was pretty underwhelming. It really just felt like every other teenage dystopian movie, except the remaining society was not interesting in this one. There are some endearing parts to the movie and it isn’t necessarily a terrible movie, it is just not very memorable. I was kind of upset while watching it because you could see where this movie had potential, but it totally fails to recognize it. Unless you love the books, this is probably worth skipping. For everyone else, there are plenty other movies in this genre to watch instead.
