Brief Review
A sequel to Ant Man that follows Scott Lang as he deals with the consequences of being a super hero. Where a lot of Marvel movies have been getting darker and heavier, this one opts to go much simpler and lighter. Ant Man and The Wasp drops all of the end of the entire universe stuff and instead keeps the story much smaller (pun intended). While there are definitely tie-ins to the larger MCU, this movie feels fairly standalone and self-contained (stay for the mid credits scene though). This movie is funny, but it is more silly than it is funny. At times it does try too hard to sound “scientific” and use confusion as humor though. There are lots of good action scenes and Evangeline Lilly as The Wasp is definitely the best character. They kind of dropped the ball on what could have been a really cool villain though. Overall, this is a solid movie, but not one of Marvel’s most memorable ones.
