Brief Review
Hotel Artemis follows a nurse who runs an underground hospital for criminals. The best part about this movie is the originality of it. The idea of an underground hospital that only serves criminals is an interesting one. On the other hand, the biggest issue with this movie is that it never really figures out what it is trying to be. It isn’t a true action movie and it isn’t a true crime/mystery movie, it gets lost in-between. I’d think of it more like a crime/mystery movie though because it would be an action movie with too little action. This is another example of a movie that has a good premise, but doesn’t fully utilize it and ends up underwhelming. I did think it was enjoyable, but it felt like it had the potential to be much better. Maybe they are trying to set up other potential films, but it just felt like they should have done more. Overall it is an ok movie that doesn’t really try to do too much. If the premise sounds interesting to you, it is worth a watch, but I doubt you will think it is much better than decent.
