Brief Review
Based on the best-selling children’s novel, A Wrinkle In Time is truly lost. I remember being confused by the book and the movie is no different. Simply said, it is not good. The biggest issue is that there is no true audience for it. This movie is too confusing to be a kid’s movie, but it is also much too young to be enjoyed by adults. At points it felt like it was trying to be a kid’s version of Inception, which did not work. The plot also feels very scattered like they pieced together a bunch of mildly related scenes. Finally, for a movie that has plenty of big name actors in it, the only notable performance was from a 9-year-old. The one saving grace of the movie is the visual effects. The movie was at least visually appealing at times, even as it was boring you to death. Ultimately, this is a rare whiff from Disney. Skip this movie, there are many more entertaining movies that both kids and parents will enjoy.
