Brief Review
Jumanji is a surprisingly good remake of the 1995 original. This is not a sequel to the original, instead they are refreshing the movie for a more modern audience. Jumanji follows four very different teenagers who become trapped inside a video game as the characters in the game that must complete the game to escape. Relying mainly on physical and crude humor, Jumanji is a funny movie that will have you laughing throughout. Some jokes definitely miss and at times they played the “pop-culture” card too much which might make you roll your eyes, but overall it will produce solid laughs. Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black make for an impressive cast with all of them providing to the movie. Jack Black delivered a standout performance. You shouldn’t expect an Oscar-winning film, but you can expect to be entertained and laugh throughout.
