Brief Review
Having never seen the previous film adaptations or read the book, I found this movie to be a fine film. The title says it all. Murder on the Orient Express is a murder mystery movie about the world’s best detective as he tries to solve a murder while aboard a luxury train. The movie features an all-star cast as each character seems to be a more high-profile actor than the last. While the cast is strong, the movie is far from flawless. It is too long for the pace of the movie and as a result it does drag at times. Despite the film’s length, it doesn’t do a great job of focusing equally on each potential suspect. With that being said, if you don’t already know the plot, the mystery is hard to solve which helps keep you involved. Overall, the film is not a terrific movie but it isn’t a poor movie either. Fans of murder mysteries should enjoy this film.
