Brief Review
Jane is a biography/documentary of Jane Goodall, a leading primatologist and wildlife conservation champion. Using forgotten footage and recent interviews, the movie follows Jane’s rise from a secretary with no science background, to the world’s most respected primatologist. The movie plays more like a Nat Geo or Animal Planet TV documentary than a true movie, but it was definitely enjoyable to watch. It does a good job of balancing both Jane’s personal life and her research, showcasing how dedicated she is. Jane was able to assimilate herself into a group of Chimpanzees allowing her to discover elements of Chimpanzees that were previously unknown. Additionally, the documentary focuses on her foundation and conservation work that she carries on to this day. Overall, this is a heartfelt and enjoyable documentary about both Jane Goodall and chimpanzees. If you enjoy documentaries or enjoy watching Nat Geo/Animal Planet, you will like this.
