Brief Review
A group of rebel soldiers set out to steal the plans for the Death Star in order to destroy it. Rogue One might actually be my favorite Star Wars movie, yet I feel like it gets totally overlooked. So a couple of points up front. Firstly, this is the least Star Wars movie of any of them. You really don’t have to have seen any of the other Star Wars movies to enjoy Rogue One. This is really just a war movie based in the Star Wars universe, and it is a really good war movie at that. In addition to being good, it has really everything that you would want in a war movie. Good characters, a tense and interesting plot, actions that lead to real consequences and most importantly very good action sequences. Finally, the final 20-30 minutes of this movie is one of the better battle scenes in any war movie. Without giving anything away, my favorite part was that actions actually have consequences in this movie. It isn’t like most movies where no matter what the characters do, they always come out on top and in a good position. This one has real consequences and by the end I had this feeling of “whoa”. Overall, I recommend this one for fans of Star Wars and for those who have never seen any of them. Rogue One is simply just a really good movie, so give it a go.
