Brief Review
The Lego Movie is about an everyday lego-man who stumbles into a group that is fighting against an evil tyrant. This movie is definitely very unique. First, it is set in a Lego world. That alone is makes it different. It is also stop-animation to mimic how a Lego actually moves. Once you get past the uniqueness of it, you will either love or hate this movie. It is very high energy, very fast paced, and loaded with pop-culture references. It definitely has lots of funny jokes and references, but with all the references it can seem excessive. At times it actually borders on annoying. That is really how the entire movie plays out, energetic and at times coming close to the boundary of annoying. Not to say this is a bad movie though. It can actually be a lot of fun if you just accept it for the simple and random movie it is. Don’t take this one too seriously or you will not like it.
