Brief Review
A young man discovers that the men in his family have the ability to travel back in time and he uses his ability to find love. About Time is an interesting movie to review because there are some very obvious flaws (particularly the time travel logic), yet somehow I enjoyed it a ton. There was just something special about it. At times, especially in the beginning, the movie feels slow and like nothing is happening, yet I still wanted to keep watching. You just need to make it past the first 30 minutes and you will enjoy it. It is just so incredibly relatable that once it gets going, it just draws you in the whole time. The story isn’t necessarily anything amazing and there are some definite clichés and flaws, but it is full of emotion and the actors do a phenomenal job of making you care for the characters. The main character is the perfect mix of awkward and dorky yet charming. It was one of the most sincere and endearing movies that I have ever seen. If you can look past the poor time travel logic and some of the cheesiness and just focus on the emotion and sincerity of the movie, it is a really good movie. I really enjoyed it and will definitely be watching it again!
